The unsophisticated faith

 On Sunday 15th August I got on my knees before the  Lord and asked him how are we infected with this virus. I asked him why this virus and if he can explain. As soon as I finished asking these questions, I heard a voice saying Joshua with no chapter or verse. I picked up my bible and I turn to the book of Joshua and the prayer of Joshua caught my eye. What is your focus? As christians we have a prelude to the vast knowledge and wisdom of the God we serve. In fact he have placed the answers to life and the way of living in the bible. Therefore, all we need to do is study his word and follow this instructions.  You have the answers in your hands but if you don't study and believe then you fail.  Personally I have experienced this; in university I had a kind lecturer who will inform the students of what will come for exams. "Love is a term that may take a lifetime to define. Loving your enemies may even take longer to comprehend. Showing love all the time...well...could be downright impossible. However with God nothing is impossible." I found myself today reflecting on the word of God and I was amazed by the humbleness of his servant Moses. You see knowing someone is your enemy is one thing but knowing your enemy is your own family member "flesh and blood" is another problem. Last week on Facebook, I came across a post by a relative of mines stating that he hates to see the cross or any crucifix. The reason being it was a constant reminder that they have kill his parent, his brother Jesus. He asked, how would you feel to see your parent up on a cross everyday? Honestly, I think it is a good question. I personally do not want to see my parents or any member of my family hanging from a cross everyday. I think others may agree ... Right! It will be just terrible and I could just imagine the pain, anguish and emotions that will follow. But on reflection, I would ask how did they end up there? What was the reason? What was the cause? What was their journey ? The answer surely will have an impact on my behavior and attitude afterwards. I don't really like going to funerals, but when I do the sermons are so spot on. What I observe sometimes at funerals are people wearing jerseys with the deceased face on them, some may wear their uniforms or some may have...

At times we as Christians are faced with lots of accusations especially being labelled as inhumane , robotic, brainwashed and simply dull. Sometimes writing a honest letter to self helps you get a clearer picture of who you are and brings things to a greater perspective. Here is one my letter to self as a way to ward off the accusations of  being simple and uneventful as a Christian. Dear Self, I am not boring , I am not dead. I am an interesting person made by my Lord.As everyone else I have issues that threatens my stability. Those who love me will help me ,who don't care will say its too hard. I need to step up and be the man as God designed with him at my side. I am complicated and can't express myself but who is not.
