Why write another christian blog?

A quote I found on a pinterest board:native sayings byMelissa Finnell

As I sat down to write this post, I wondered if blogging was necessary. Why the unsophisticated faith? What do I really want from this?

Doubt started to form in my mind and as a Christian, WE KNOW once doubt gets a foothold, everyone else is invited especially his big brother FEAR and best friend NEGATIVITY.

I could not stop wondering if it made sense to blog as there were lots of christian bloggers already all over the net, whose blogs were much better than mines, an amateur blogger. I felt defeated and confused, which resulted in procrastination for weeks, struck on whether to publish a post or to discontinue this blog.

I must confess before continuing this post that prayer works wonders for those who seek the counsel of the Lord .

I prayed over the situation and got my inspiration:This was not me stepping out in Faith or walking in the Holy Spirit. This was me trying to be in control. This was me trying to be perfect with the fear of being looked at as a failure. This was me not believing in my Lord, that anything is possible. SMH- " No one can hurt you if you're determined to do only what is right"-1Peter 3:13

God is perfectly perfect;perfect in love and perfect in mercy and not according to our ever changing definition of love and perfection.

Therefore in my new found confidence in my perfect Lord Jesus Christ my King I have made three perfectly imperfect declarations:
  1. I choose to blog because I am passionate about my God Yahweh and his son Jesus Christ, once you know God there is always a great yearning to share his love with others.
  2. I believe that sharing God's Word will help us live the christian life each day.
  3. I simply want to be a reflective practitioner of faith

Therefore the unsophisticated faith is about sharing our daily walk in the way of the Lord. As Christians we sometimes complicate this straight and simple path and need counsel and encouragement to continue. The important mission of this blog is to share God's (Yahweh) words with the hope of developing into a mature and special relationship with his son Jesus Christ.YES TO GOD!YES TO JESUS!

  1. Amen brother Felix! It's all about the heart and the motive within it. We should blog firstly - for the glory of our Triune God and secondly to help and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ - for we all know just how difficult a Christian life can be. This is the way to lead a holy life - that everything we do, we do because of Him. We do not boast about the things that we have done for Christ, but rather for what He has done for us....

    1. Thank you Elma...yes we should also try not to parade ourselves as righteous before God or men for we will only trick ourselves.Instead we should be humble and work for his kingdom.

Are you afraid of the responsibility of the coming of the last days?

In thinking of the last days, it is a nerve racking thought. To be true to oneself, no matter how much your faith appears to be or is, the fact is that human nature is afraid of the unknown. To make matters worse there are repeated and constant forecast of doom and gloom. As Christians, there is a great responsibility placed on our shoulders. As the world descends into darkness( increase in evil, crime, rapes, road carnage ,fighting, hunger, taxes, immoral living and the list goes on) our light has to shine and not to be place on a shelf, but for everyone to see. Everyone will be looking at us Christians. They will be hard on us for they will be looking for answers. They will be looking to see how the God that we profess and believe in is actually working in our lives. They will want to see if God is real and how can they be save as well. Many will be doubters, mockers and critics. Therefore it is by our living they can see and witness that despite all the hardsh...

" Father, why have you forsaken me?"

For a long time now I have been faced with the word SIN. It came up again recently when I was reading the book of Jeremiah. It is a scary book but also one of hope.I felt the holy spirit guiding me to read chapter 32  for I were able to make a connection with the sin of the people in that time and the reason behind Jesus pained words on the cross. To start,I decided to find out the definition of sin. Here goes my explanation as it came to me: Sin according to the  WebBibleEncyclopedia  is the word used to "denote the willful breaking of God's law." Another source  gotquestions.org   described sin as transgression of the law of God and rebellion against God. We sometimes do not understand the word SIN in all its entirety. What I do know is that it is something very serious and terrible for Jesus to have died on the cross to absorb the punishment. According to the bible all SINs are and must be punished because of who Yahweh God is;  PERFECTLY (a...

Should we be wearing Crosses or Crucifixes as part of our Christian worship?

Last week on Facebook, I came across a post by a relative of mines stating that he hates to see the cross or any crucifix. The reason being it was a constant reminder that they have kill his parent, his brother Jesus. He asked, how would you feel to see your parent up on a cross everyday? Honestly, I think it is a good question. I personally do not want to see my parents or any member of my family hanging from a cross everyday. I think others may agree ... Right! It will be just terrible and I could just imagine the pain, anguish and emotions that will follow. But on reflection, I would ask how did they end up there? What was the reason? What was the cause? What was their journey ? The answer surely will have an impact on my behavior and attitude afterwards. I don't really like going to funerals, but when I do the sermons are so spot on. What I observe sometimes at funerals are people wearing jerseys with the deceased face on them, some may wear their uniforms or some may have...
