Take heed o beautiful country

Every carnival season in my country, I always get a word from God.This carnival was no different.I took a job to collect people from our airport and drop them off to their hotels. It was a good hustle but the spirit of God do not sleep and I couldn't help the thought that evaded my mind, thinking of all these people coming to our shores to be at their worst behaviour. Enjoyable! Yes! But their conversations betrayed their want of serious drink ,drunkenness to the max, sex, wild parties and as one put it "to party hard as the last day on earth."

Here they were in the airport, some half naked, ready and set to enjoy the moment of freedom the season offers, to indulge in acts that is surely not pure or pleasing to God our Father. How did we move from a Carnival filled with creativity, innovation and fun ?

I am not against Carnival as what God makes is always Good. This here is another example, how we as people turn what is good to something that leads to self-indulge,self- bondage and death. On the surface, it all looks good and not all the persons who come to partake in the festival seeks the wrong stuff. I will be wrong to judge anyone, but the word of God cannot be denied.

The truth is the love of money and self is the root of all evil, the greed and the yearning of the desire of the flesh exposes us.We lose self control and what was in the dark comes out.The lessons of the Israelite will forever be an example to us all.

THE WORD:

Hosea 4:1-3: Israelites, hear what Yahweh says, for Yahweh indicts the citizens of the country: there is no loyalty, no faithful love, no knowledge of God in the country, only perjury and lying, murder, theft, adultery and violence, bloodshed after bloodshed. This is why the country is in mourning and all its citizens pining away, the wild animals also and the birds of the sky, even the fish in the sea will disappear.

O take heed little country and seek the lord while he is to be found. These exact words fall in our garden for even the dead animals on the side of the road has increase.
Have mercy on us Lord we pray. Amen

Are you afraid of the responsibility of the coming of the last days?

In thinking of the last days, it is a nerve racking thought. To be true to oneself, no matter how much your faith appears to be or is, the fact is that human nature is afraid of the unknown. To make matters worse there are repeated and constant forecast of doom and gloom. As Christians, there is a great responsibility placed on our shoulders. As the world descends into darkness( increase in evil, crime, rapes, road carnage ,fighting, hunger, taxes, immoral living and the list goes on) our light has to shine and not to be place on a shelf, but for everyone to see. Everyone will be looking at us Christians. They will be hard on us for they will be looking for answers. They will be looking to see how the God that we profess and believe in is actually working in our lives. They will want to see if God is real and how can they be save as well. Many will be doubters, mockers and critics. Therefore it is by our living they can see and witness that despite all the hardsh...

" Father, why have you forsaken me?"

For a long time now I have been faced with the word SIN. It came up again recently when I was reading the book of Jeremiah. It is a scary book but also one of hope.I felt the holy spirit guiding me to read chapter 32  for I were able to make a connection with the sin of the people in that time and the reason behind Jesus pained words on the cross. To start,I decided to find out the definition of sin. Here goes my explanation as it came to me: Sin according to the  WebBibleEncyclopedia  is the word used to "denote the willful breaking of God's law." Another source  gotquestions.org   described sin as transgression of the law of God and rebellion against God. We sometimes do not understand the word SIN in all its entirety. What I do know is that it is something very serious and terrible for Jesus to have died on the cross to absorb the punishment. According to the bible all SINs are and must be punished because of who Yahweh God is;  PERFECTLY (a...

Should we be wearing Crosses or Crucifixes as part of our Christian worship?

Last week on Facebook, I came across a post by a relative of mines stating that he hates to see the cross or any crucifix. The reason being it was a constant reminder that they have kill his parent, his brother Jesus. He asked, how would you feel to see your parent up on a cross everyday? Honestly, I think it is a good question. I personally do not want to see my parents or any member of my family hanging from a cross everyday. I think others may agree ... Right! It will be just terrible and I could just imagine the pain, anguish and emotions that will follow. But on reflection, I would ask how did they end up there? What was the reason? What was the cause? What was their journey ? The answer surely will have an impact on my behavior and attitude afterwards. I don't really like going to funerals, but when I do the sermons are so spot on. What I observe sometimes at funerals are people wearing jerseys with the deceased face on them, some may wear their uniforms or some may have...
